How long should you meditate?
Ten to fifteen minutes is enough to start. Regularity matters more than length: a practice is more beneficial when you return to it every day. The effects build up gradually over the weeks.
With habit, fifteen to thirty minutes is a common session length. Thirty minutes and more corresponds to an established practice.
What the interval bells are for
The start bell marks the beginning of the session and the end bell its close, so there is no need to check the time while practicing.
Between the two, bells can ring at points in the session — halfway, for example — or at custom intervals set in minutes, up to eight. Each bell is configured separately.
Countdown or open stopwatch
The countdown runs for a duration chosen in advance; a bell signals the end of the session.
The open stopwatch starts at zero and runs until stopped manually, then shows the elapsed time. Use it to meditate without a set duration.
No account, offline, on mobile
The timer is free and runs entirely in the browser, on desktop and on mobile. Nothing to install, no account, no subscription.
Once the page has loaded, the timer keeps working without a connection, including in airplane mode. It can be added to the home screen and launched like an app. An account is optional and only syncs your saved setups across devices.
